Try soaking her in a warm water bath for 10-15 minutes. Once she is all cleaned up apply sugar (helps the tissue shrink back) and then some prep. H. Gently push the prolapse back in using lubricated gloved fingers. Blow dry her so she doesn't get chilled and keep her in a clean and darkend cage in a warm place.

I was just going to suggest the sugar too... I know it works on humans

OK I've done everything besides the sugar as there is sticky Prep H all over her vent, I try pushing the prolapse back in gently but she keeps trying to push it back out (or it's a body reflex)... her vent is leaking white urates and diarrhea now, which are sticking to her derrière - what a mess.

She will stay crated in the bathroom until tomorrow and then I'll see how her vent looks, for now she is alert and doesn't seem to be in much pain - tough little girl, I just noticed one her toes is missing - wth?? How and when that happened I have no idea, it's horrible!

I feel like such a failure

Push her insides back in bring her into the house in a warm small dry area try to keep her still for a few days be sure she has food and water

I've been reading up on prolapsed oviducts and the prognosis is grim... the next egg will no doubt cause the same problem, made worse by my incision in her tissues... I have very little hope for this sweet and beautiful girl

She's sleeping now, we can only wait and see what happens... and pray.

Here's hoping for the best! It could get better. I had a hen prolapse (but not nearly as badly) and I found her with her egg broken and her oviduct sticking out. I got to her before anyone could peck at it, and she is a Serama, so it's always been hard for her to reach back to her vent. I did what most everyone here is suggesting and what you have done, and within a day, it had shrunk somewhat, and then a little more the second day, and by day three it had receded completely. I don't want to give you false hope because it sounds much worse than Iliya's case ever was, but it could happen. It doesn't sound good that it hasn't receded at all.

Interestingly enough, Iilya was also the chick with a terrible case of always getting poo stuck to her butt.
