Nevermind, I see you are in the UK. Can you find something that contains chlorhexidine?

it's a store here in the us. Maybe a feed store by you will have it, or maybe a pharmacy.I'm not sure what you mean by tractor supply, could you explain?
It was definately a fox, we don't get other predators in my area - all the chickens in the pen were moved inside, all my other pens are definitely secureAlso - do you know it was definitely a fox? And if so, is their pen secure? Foxes are known for returning once they know where chickens are...
HELP -
About the 4 month old chicks wing has been ripped off by a fox, not too much bleeding considering the damage - although I don't know how long ago it was. The joint is sticking out the wound and I've sprayed it with antibacterial chicken stuff, I'm thinking about sewing the wound together so the skin heals over the joint, is that a bad idea?
Chick is walking/jumping/eating etc. Doesn't appear to be in shock
Hes a lovely little boy...If anyone is following this, I have an update:
We had to wait 2 days to take him to the vet and he survived on asparin water and antibac spray till then, but he was in pretty bad condition. When we got to the vets we had to wait another week to have his bone amputated and wound sewn. After that he started improving and we kept him inside. During his recovery he became really attached to my sister and my dog cos she's taking a gap year so she's always home. He also loves tomatoes we discovered and has grown back mostly all of his feathers. He is the sweetest chicken ever and is coping well with one wing. View attachment 2426292
This is him relaxing on my sisters lap
I am not a vet, and I've only had one like this, and it was not as serious, as in there wasn't as much bone exposed. Can you go tractor supply and get some chlorhexidine? I ask because I think you will need to remove most of that bone and then you will need something to flush the wound with.
