HELP!!!!!!!!!!! Urgently please,

My hen who hatched her eggs two days ago with 12 chicks just abandoned one of the cutest one, she is attacking it and trying to kill it. Is there anything I can do about that chick that she accept it back? Her behavior was changed just today. I am in Shock.

Take the chick away and put it under a heat lamp. Sorry i am not much help, hopefully someone will come along and give you more advise.

i dont think there is a way to make her accept it, she might think it wont live or its sick or maybe she just doesnt like that one. Im sorry. hope the chick is better

In nature, mothers seem to know when something is not right with her offspring and she will try to eliminate it to save the food for the siblings. You do need to take this chick from her. She will kill it. You might want to put it in a box with a light, food and water in your home and watch and enjoy it. Maybe you can prove her wrong and raise a beautiful addition to your flock! he is just a day old and he doesn't even know how to eat , i tried to teach him but he won't eat. he s chripping all the time and Mandy(mother hen) is trying to jump over him, I put him under a laundry basket and kept it near the other chicks and hen but she wanted to break the basket and kill it. He is in the picture, he s all healthy but looks so sad

i could be wrong here, and somebody correct me if i am. but i would take him away WITH a couple friends. he will be lonely by himself and then he will REALLY be sad. i would take 3 chicks away. i would give him 2 friends. i say 2 because what if he dies? if you only took one other chick away with him, then you would have a hard time integrating the other friend back in and the friend would then be on his own (if the rejected chick died). chicks are pretty capable of hatching and just getting up and walking around and taking care of themselves. i have never had a problem with them not eating. now the drinking, i've had to put marbles in the water to attract them to it, then they try to peck the marbles and discover.....WATER! lol. good luck and keep us updated! maybe he's not eating cuz he's stressed and sad? or maybe something really is wrong with the poor lil thing? take him away regardless. give him a chance.

X3 You need to get that chick out of there and under a heat lamp with food and water. If the chick is truly healthy, it will eat. Day olds don't necessarily have to eat right away, but they will. The frizzle roo in my avatar came with 2 other chicks back in august that for some reason didn't make it. He was a loner until we introduced 6 more chicks a couple of weeks later. In those 2 weeks, I handled him every day. Now, I can't go anywhere without him being at my feet or sitting in my lap when the others are outside of the coop playing. You can raise that chick, if it's healthy. Mom's usually know best, but in this instance I'd get that chick out of there and raise it myself. Keep us posted, and good luck!

Sometimes they will reject the weakest chick. The best thing to do id to put it under a brooding lamp and separate her from the rest.
