Looks normal then red blob poked out. It's back in but what is it and how do I help her? I didn't get pic of her rednessI do not really get your discription...pictures would help
Is the blob you talk about her vent? Sorry...don't really get itProlapse vent? - I haven't had to treat it before so what do I do?
Thank for your reply. I feel a bulge. Her vent is quite enlarged but red blob is staying in for now and she has pooped. I have her seperated with vitamin water and shell grit mixed in grower feed. She is a bit overweight it seems compared to my others but she has bit disabled with a limp so doesn't go far, mostly stays in coop. She hasn't laid yet and is 8 months old.If the prolapsed vent or cloaca stays in, that is good. If it keeps coming back out or stays out, make sure to keep the red prolapse tissue moist with honey, sugar mixed with a few drops of water into a syrup, or an ointment such as vaseline, coconut oil, or hydrocortisone cream. Can you feel any bulge or egg with the prolapse? A prolapse can occur from straining to pass an egg or straining to poop. Here is a good article to read:
