Our male Muscovy has always been a little bit snappy when it comes to the other birds or when we walk a little too close to him but today was the last straw. He attacked me as I was walking by. He flattened his head and neck and stretched his wings as far out as possible and ran at my legs and then proceeded to jump at my stomach and face. I have never seen him act like that and even the family dog, who has never even caught a chipmunk, was getting upset and barking. When the duck first started going after my face my dog jumped at him and did not bit him but pinned him so that he could not go after us anymore. This was after the duck bit and tried to claw at the dog. When we finally got away the duck chased us until we were safe inside the house. We have a female duck that is very attached to him and I would feel bad for her but I won't tolerate that behavior. Especially when we are getting a new puppy soon and my 3 yr old niece is at the house frequently. Advice???
