I am hoping I chose the correct category to post this under, but at any rate, I am currently in the process of looking around at different hatcheries and trying to make, hopefully, the best decision as to which to go with for shipping baby chicks. Unfortunately, I cannot find the specific breeds I am interested in close enough to arrange a pickup. The options are also limited online, but I was curious if anyone has ever ordered live chicks or even hatching eggs from the hatchery ChickenScratchPoultry.com? I assume they are relatively new, at least having been established online within the past 4-5 years, since I do not recall ever seeing or hearing about their hatchery before; however, they offer one of the breeds that I really want, and I do not want to miss out on it! I would really appreciate hearing others' experiences or thoughts, hoping it'll in return make my decision easier as to whether to go with them or not! (inserted link in my thread for convenience if needed)

I've bought hatching eggs and chicks from them this spring, but we live close enough to drive down and pick up in person so I don't have any experience with their shipping. I have read that some people have had marek's in their flocks after introducing started pullets from Chicken Scratch but I can't personally verify that. I can verify they have standard biosecurity practices such as not allowing people on their farm. And so far the day old chicks we got from them haven't shown any symptoms of any diseases.

I bought my Barred rocks from Chickens for Backyards, they are out of Missouri. I had them shipped because they guarantee "arrive alive". One chick didn't make it after I received them, all others are in excellent condition. Im very happy with my purchase from them.

Have you ever heard of the place mentioned in the post? Thanks for the other option! I'll check out the hatchery you used. I prefer to use places where I have people personally telling me they used them and didn't have a problem over random reviews; it makes me feel a little bit more comfortable.

No not heard of the place you mentioned just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents 😊 I live in Oregon so coming from Missouri was quite a trek for these babies.

Ok, thank you, and of course, I welcome and want all the cents. 🤣. Whatever type of helpful information I can get, I have just read so many horror stories throughout the years, and I would prefer to avoid that!
