Help! We accidentally brought home mystery chicks!

So far they've always slept in a pile somewhere, but they spend the day going in and out of the box and up on their mini-perch/on the bricks and all over everywhere -- using the full 4x8 space as soon as I'm confident that they can find their food.

hi from the photos i think the second one in that circle (the blue/lavender looking one with a yellow face) has feathered feet, dose any one else see that? or is it just me?

Yes, Someone else said it looked like a light brahma, there's a close up photo and it does have feathered feet.

I've never heard of a Blue Australorp being a Sex-linked crossing since Blue Australorp exists as another color variety of Australorp. There's Black, Blue, & Splash Australorps.

Sapphire Gems are a blue sexlink, I think there's another type, but can't think of it.

They didn't select any bantams. It's a Light Brahma that doesn't look like it felt well in those pictures.

So they could pick out any chicks from large fowl tubs. Not to say some dummy didn't put a wrong chick in the tub, but it doesn't appear to be a d'Uccle. I'm exhausted too, so I feel you there. At least my head isn't throbbing like yesterday.

Could that be a fire Hazzard using cardboard? This is my first time raising chicks I usually get full feathered pullets. How old do they need to be to take the heat lamp away?
