help we have a thief!

Cloudpurple, we found that seagulls don't like hot mustard, we detered one from trying to rob us of our picnic near the Puget Sound (Washington State), and it promptly upchucked the stolen goods with the hot mustard on it!! Maybe you could set up a "decoy" egg for it, spread something hot, maybe some horseradish and let it have it. Once it gets a taste of the bad egg, might not want to come back for anymore!

I find it sorta amusing to read post about protected species. Stopping completly for stops sign and driving within the speed limit is the law also. But so many of us break those rules everyday. I suppose we're just selective of which laws we break.

Judges don't find it amusing, and it's a Federal offense to kill most migratory birds.

It's not anything at all like a traffic citation

I would not suggest to anyone TO kill a hawk, but Red Tails are hugely populated out here in Oregon, and I am not understanding why people cannot take care of a repeat offender? I would think there could be some provisions for this, especially for larger flocks that people have (farms, etc..).

it looks like the OP is in the UK scotland from his siggy they may or may not be protected over their way here in the states before a kill permit can be issued they have to be excluded and harassed and this needs to be documented
