Help we have egg eaters!

We have egg eaters! out of 2o hens we are getting five eggs to eat ourselves. We see the evidence of eaten eggs and we are really sick about it. We feed them very well and they have Oyster shell. We have done a lot of research and so far its failed. I am now building a enclosed 24' by 8' by 6' high chicken run. we thought this might help. We read they might be bored or needing a run. 12 of the chickens are Golden Comets, 4 are Buff Orpington and 4 are Barred Rock. One Rooster that is a Golden Comet.
Everting was going fine until the deep freeze we had a month or so ago.

Hi, sorry you're having an issue with egg eating. If you use the Search Forums tool, you can look up a lot of posts about roll away nesting boxes...that could be a solution for you.

Hello, and welcome to BYC. Curtains over the nest boxes may help. Roll away nests would for sure help. It's a bad habit that is near impossible to break once started.
