Maybe put a camera in your coop and see if you can figure out which bird is the egg eater then re-home her or eat her. Often times it's only one bird. You can also post in themChicken Behaviors and Egglaying forum for other opinions. Good luck...I know others have tried things similar. I don't recall if it helped or not. I have never done it but have had egg eaters in the past. I took them to our local farm swap and sold them. I thought that once in a new place they may be more interested in their new surroundings and may give it up. Again, good luck...I have at least one chicken eating eggs and making a disgusting mess of the rest of the eggs. I have 2 ideas.
1. Empty a few eggs and filling them with red food dye. Then I know who the culprits are. What then??? Born free maybe
2. New plan: empty the eggs fill them with something they will wish they never put in their mouths! Tobacco sauce maybe horse radish? Does anyone has a better idea what to put in there (that won't kill them)?
