We are trying to raise a peachick the was abandoned in the nest. He/She is 3 weeks old now. When we found "P" it could not keep it's head up and was very unsteady on it's feet. We have fed her hardboiled eggs and chick mash, taught her to eat and drink water. She is doing very well although still has a problem with balance. One problem I have found is that her poop has never been "formed", it has, from the beginning been runny, I wasn't too concerned in the beginning, but am becoming concerned as it hasn't really changed. We have primarily had her indoors in a coup for warmth so she hasn't been exposed to the outdoors or other animals except for daily walks on our back porch. We are definitely out of our element, but have fallen in love with little "P" and want to do our best to help "P" grow into a fully grown independent bird. any help or recommendations are much appreciated! I have attached a gross picture of her most recent poop... sorry...

Welcome to BYC.

That poop is not normal. Is there any chance you could have an avian vet look at her and her poop?

Can you take a video, upload to YouTube or Vimeo, then copy/paste the link here?

Do you have a kitchen scale to weigh her on? If so, let me know what she weighs and I'll tell you if that's a normal weight for one her age. Start weighing daily.

“P” is 3 weeks old and weighs 1 pd 9 oz. When we rescued her she wasnt “normal”, which is why we think the mom left her. We have been feeding her hard boiled eggs and chick mash. She has been doing really well until today. She was having a hard time walking and her poop was different. I did find that she had hard white “poop” encrusted on her booty so I rinsed it until it dissolved. This is really foreign to us Indont know what else to do... love the little stinker! This won’t let me upload a video, it says my file is too large (only 12 seconds)

One pound and nine ounces is not a three week old chick, maybe three months? It sounds like cocci to me but if three months it could also be worms.
