Hi everyone! i recently got 8 chicks i am trying to figure out their breed color and gender! I know gender is hard but what can you look for in a chick to tell? also I've read multiple places that you can tell gender when the are a few days old by their wings i read up more on this and it looks like i only have one rooster! how likely is that?
so i am going to give you all the info i have on them above the picture of the chick! please help!!
Chick #1 (gabe) this chick is has black and white feathers coming in. it is 14 days old and has the most feathers coming in. i believe it is a she. she hold he wings low to the ground and her tail sticks strait up. she is the only chick that can already fly so let me know what you think of her.
Chick #2 (roo) ok so this is the one i believe is a rooster. he has barely any feathers in and he is developing slower. he looks like his color might be barred or mottled?? he is also black and white.
Chick #3 (Flippy) this looks like a laced hen but im not sure i have no clue the breed but her feet featers are certainly there and there are a lot!! she is a gold and black colored girl. let me know what you think.
Chick #4 (paisley) this is a hen i think and she is also laced with the same colors as before?? she is very small but appears to be the same as chick #3.
Chick #5 (duchess) this is a hen Possibly a silkie mix for she has 5 toes and black skin. her feathers are coming in buff and tell me what you think.
Chick #6 (impala) this is a possible hen she is a pure silkie from a breeder. she is a blue. she doesnt have a vaulted skull.
Chick #7 (bluey) this is a partridge silkie hen? she is like i said partridge but what veriety? she doesnt have a vaulted skull. she has 5 toes and black skin.
Chick #8 (bubbles) this is a silkie hen Partridge once again what verity? she has a really vaulted skull. and is super fluffy. she is from a silkie breeder and once again has 5 toes and black skin.
