Hi I am new to both those breeds. TSC had both mixed together in the same bin. Bottom one is Angle(suspected amberlink) and top one is a suspected cornish rock. Both are pullets around 3 weeks old. Top is much larger with different leg color. Are my guesses right, or are they both Amberlinks. Thanks.

Really tough to say at this point, but you are probably right. Size is a big factor. Watch how they grow. It should be pretty clear in the near future as Cornish rocks are very heavy, especially the breast area.

Also, Amberlinks usually get a little golden brown coloring near the wing area.

I am not so sure they are both pullets. The 5th picture shows a comb that looks suspicious. Nothing definite, but something to watch.

Amber links are not a color sex link. They are a feather sex link.

They can only sexed by the length of the wing tip feathers at a very young age I believe hatch to 10 days old. Hatcheries screw that up all the time that's why I suggest getting color sex links ISA browns, golden comets, black stars and barred rocks can be sexed by looking at the barring and hens have black lines on the front of the leg.

Yes the Cornish will grow faster.

The male barred rock carries 2 copies of the barring gene.

The female barred rock carries 1 copy of the barring gene.

So the barred rock females have a thicker barring pattern they look darker.

Also if you look real close the at the legs of a barred rock hen you will see black lines on the front side. The males don't have that.

Thanks I guess that means Prince is a boy, he's the one in my profile picture. Lucy has way less white then he does.
