Help! What happened to my quail?!?!?!? (Graphic)

I went to check on my three quail and one of them had this cut on their neck! I seperated it from the other two, but have no idea what happened or how to treat it. Please help!

U kno what sexes they are as can turn on each other learnt that the hard way clean with warm water and saline if no saline salt water and antibiotic cream keep them seperated as others may peck at it xx

Sorry to hear about your quail. Is a vet an option?

That is a fairly deep wound, and judging from the photo, it looks like her trachea or esophagus can be seen (correct?). Ideally, you would have a vet close it up, but, if a vet is not an option, I would either suggest using vet glue and putting some on the skin and pinching it together, or if you're familiar with sutures, suture it up, then apply an antibacterial ointment, or cream overtop. Either way, it needs to be closed soon.
