Help! What is the red area, losing feathers???

My specked Sussex is only 7 months old. She is lovely and does not appear to be in any pain. However, her “bottom or stomach” area is red and losing feathers. She has stopped laying, I think. I have 4 birds so it’s hard to tell if she is laying or not. I think she is too young for this to be a water belly. What do you think?

Could be lice, mites, molting, broody.
How is her behavior?
I see new feathers coming in.

She is pleasant. I did order some dust and a pesticide dust in case it’s mites or lice.
