I tried posting a picture but didn't figure out how to so I will just give
A brief description of this pest. They are flea-like looking creatures.
Attach mostly to the chickens head, around the comb mostly,
And underneath the mouth. They stick into the chickens skin and
When you pull at them with tweesers its like pulling a hair.
Although they haven't killed any of my chickens yet I really want to
get rid of theswle sickening pests. There are about 60 on one chicken alone.

That sounds like some form of tick. You can do one of several things. Get Sevin dust and dust all your birds. Put the dust in an old pillow case and put the chicken in up to their necks. Shake them around and coat them good. You will have to apply to the head. Or, you could get some Adams flea and tick spray and spray them good. The last is to purchase Ivermectin and drop 1 - 3 drops on the back on the neck per bird depending on size. The ivermectin has a withdrawal period of 21 days so you would have to throw eggs away for that amount of time. Someone also suggested that you could use Frontline for dogs.

Good luck with what you decide to do.

No, DE will not get rid of these...some people use it to help prevent pests but, it will not treat them. 5% Sevin dust can be found in most stores in the gardening section. It comes in either red bags or red containers.

Thank You! !! You are very helpful! Does a place like home depot store sevin?

Yes, you should be able to find 5% Sevin powder at Home Depot...and you are very welcome :)
