Help-what is this?

Thanks for the pics! I wouldn't lance it / treat it unless the chick seems to be in distress.
I've had 2 chicks hatch with that condition.
One had some internal issues and 'evacuated' into the 'pouch' instead of 'out'.
Not much I could do with that situation.
The other had its innards *intact* and the pouch went away by itself. That chick is a grown roo now

Good luck!

Thankyou Lisa, I just can't stop crying. You give me hope . She's acting normal, aside from being lonely, but hopefully tomorrow she will get some "Cynthia" playmates.

I had a hatchling with a bubble like that on the neck shoulder. It adsorbed in a few days. It doesn't pop or leak, since that would lead to infection. My guess in a few days it will be gone.

I would just leave it alone. She looks alert. All lancing would do at this point is possibly introduce infection. Just give her a few days, I had a chick last hatch with a little fluid around it umbilicus and it reabsorbed in about 3 days.

The baby is alert active and spunky. I think we created a monster. I gave her some yogurt on my finger last night, and now she is a raving lunatic! Peeping and running around, she is in a seethru storage container. I'd like to see her eat some chick starter. I even make her some moistened mush. The hanging sac is still there. It does not look worse. If it does get bigger, I will lance it sterily, it it becomes a problem.
I have a Caroline egg and a Silver egg pipped. I keep checking them for peeping. I can see the beak of one, and both have a clear pip hole, so they can get 02. I am not going to let these go too long. Its funny, I "thought" I heard peeping last night! Karen

Karen, that's great news! Did I send you just the one Ameraucana egg in your pkg? Couldn't remember exactly. I have one of Silver's pipped in my bator now and we helped Charlotte's baby out early this morning. It was just a big chick for the egg, something I'm seeing in Charlotte's babies, but not Silver's so far. Mine is blue and doing great, very alert.

Great news about your egg! I think I have 5 big eggs, 2 Charlotte eggs, and one Silver egg, oh correction, I have 4 big eggs and one chick! Karen
Question, the Caroline chick was born with a string of yolk attached that got pulled off in her movement. Anything I should do?
My 2 birthed chicks also had a slight red tinge inside. Any guesses?
