Yesterday in broad daylight something killed one of my chickens inside my fenced in yard. The chicken was left on the ground but had lots of missing feathers on one side all the way down to the breast meat. But it didn’t look as if any of the meat had been eaten, or if so, very little of it. She was otherwise intact; no other marks as to what could have killed her. I did find this “glob” of something in the same area where all her feathers were laying on the ground (but not attached to the feathers) I was unsure if it could have been some kind of animal scat so I am attaching a picture to see if anyone else has any ideas what it could be. I know a hawk could get into the fenced in yard easily but I was just curious if anyone had any idea what this stuff I found was...it about HAS to be related to the attack but I’m wondering if it’s from the chicken or the attacker. Thanks for any help!
