help! what kind of chicken do i have?

Just her but like I said she showed up one day like she ran away from wherever she was and didn't leave.

Looks like she's molting. She appears to be a red sex link. I have five of them and they're so gentle. Always let's my kids pick them up and likes to eat out of our hands. Also they lay one beautiful egg a day for me

Well, if you want to keep her, you might want to add a few more chicks or chickens so that she'll be happy. Chickens are not solitary and prefer to be in a flock.

Do you have a coop setup or something like that yet?

Yes we made her a coop and I want to get mote I just didn't know if I should so thank you for that! We hang out with her all day but we are not chicken's.

Great that you are keeping her company until she can get some friends.

Have you got any ideas on what breed or age yet? Chicks are the easiest, I think, because you know their bckground, and you can only vaccinate for most diseases at a young age. There are hatcheries that will vaccinate for you and then send the chicks in the mail.

There are sooo many breeds to choose from! Make sure that you get some that will match your climate and your needs.

Thank you so much...I do not know age or bread. We live in Santa Rosa CA weather is crazy here never know what you will get. Any thoughts on age or bread? I think she ran away from wherever she was cus she was in bad shape when she showed up.

Here are some ideas to narrow down which breed:

Do you want it to be heat tolerant, cold tolerant,or both?
Do you like lots of eggs?
Are you raising them for meat purpose?
Do you want a show chicken?
Do you want a friendly,pet kind of breed?

As for age I reccomend chicks.
