help! what kind of chicken do i have?

Looks like a single comb, correct?

It has a squiggly line.

Looks pea to me, because of the thickness.

this is my EE Lucy, is her comb a pea or single? I get confused.

Hard to tell on that one. You can get some odd combs when you mix pea and single, sometimes other genetics keep the pea comb from expressing fully, and instead of having little 'peas' they end up looking more like small single combs.

It's usually easy to tell pea combs from the size of the wattles, since they reduce the size of them quite a bit, but since beards reduce wattles as well, it's hard to say on your bird. There are some small traits that come with pea combs like a little seam of thickened skin running down the body at the keel, but those would be hard to see on a mixed pea comb too.

If she lays blue/green eggs then it is most likely a pea comb. Those traits, while not linked genetically like the keel ridge is, are close together, and often carry over together in EEs.

[/IMG] There are lots of other breeds and I don't think I can name them all- but I really reccomend that you check out the 'breeds' section here on BYC! ;) People have reviews, commnts, pros and cons. The ones I listed here are popular and very friendly. :D Let me know which one you pick or if you want to keep looking!

The lady said she is 2. No egg yet but the lady said she is broody. I don't see her laying on anything all-day she comes out with the other chicken and plays with her. I just think she didn't like that lady lol

I think Austrolorps can lay for three years, but I'm not positive. As for the broody situation I think you may be right.

Even if she was broody, it wouldn't matter because she wouldn't stay broody in a new home.

All I know is she is now friends with my chicken they roll in dirt together and they both look happy :) so I'm happy! They made friends fast no fighting at all! ;) thanks for all your help and info.
