HELP!! What kind of incubator is this?

A machinists shop should be able to recreate the gear for you, or have a suitable one lying around. You'd be surprised how many things have the same gear pieces.

I've never seen one of those in person so I can't help you with the details of getting it going. Maybe one of the others has hands on experience or a link to a manual.

A Small, local, "job-shop" type machine shop could make the gear for you as long as they could use the original gear as a pattern.

Sometimes automotive engine rebuilders have machinery to do this work.

Sometimes you can find a retired machinist who has this equipment in his garage to use as a hobby.

Perhaps a classified ad in your local newspaper advertising for hobbyist machinist to build your part might be productive.

The large machine shops seldom will take the time to do the setup, etc. It would be too expensive for them to setup.

just a few thoughts.

I once had a machinist in a diesel repair shop build me a part for my diesel generator mechanical tachometer.

Did you end up buying it? it said ad not found..

Yup I got it. I am running it now to see how it holds temps. Then I need to clean the inside with some bleach(there are still eggs bits everywhere), replace the water pans(they are rusted out), replace the seals on the doors, and possibly just rotate the gear that has broken teeth. The gear does not go 360 degrees around. It only does a 180. So I think if I get the gear off and rotate it, the broken teeth will not be used. The guy said last time he hatched in it he hatched about 1000 guinea at once. I read it hold 165 goose eggs. I can't imagine ever hatching that much but I will give it a whirl, fix it up and maybe sell it later for something a bit smaller.

Although the cost to operate (electricity) may cost a bit more than a smaller unit, I suppose you could incubate small numbers of eggs as well as large numbers in this unit.

Have FUN getting it operating !!! GREAT BUY !!!

Waibel keep checking ebay for cheaper copies of the the manual. They come up now and then and often sell for very little. 40$?!? Oh please...
