My 1 yo silver laced wyandot has been wheezing & gasping for 5 days. I am spoonfeeding her with dissolved layer pellets & eye dropper. I have wormed her twice with Worm Away (praziquantel & oxyfendazole) with no improvement . I have been giving her Duramycin-10 (tetracycline) twice daily for 6 days with no improvement. She does not have runny nose or eyes. I think she has an airway obstruction.
Her crop is soft and she is pooping very little (small pellets interspersed with green diarrhea). I have given her a gruel of olive oil, cat food & yogurt. I am giving her water with an eye dropper. She is alert but lethargic. Should I try the Sulfamethoxazole (sulfa antibiotic)?
I need suggestions. Any out there. Please help.
