HELP!!!!!!!! WHERE ARE THE BABIES???????

I'VE A MOMMA ROUEN BROODING AND NOW ALL OF THE EGGS ARE GONE!!! SHE'S WALKING AROUND LIKE SHE'S TRYING TO SWALLOW SOMETHING OR POSSIBLY THROW UP. SHE IS EATING AND DRINKING. DO MOMMAS THAT ARE FREE RANGE EAT THE EGGSHELLS AFTER THEY HATCH? WE DON'T SEE ANY EGGSHELLS OR BABIES, BUT WE'RE REALLY HOPING THAT SHE HID THE BABIES. WE HAD A FENCE AROUND THE NEST THAT ONLY SHE COULD GET INTO. THE ONLY WAY SOMETHING COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE EGGS WAS FROM OVERHEAD AND THEY WERE ALL THERE LAST NIGHT WHEN WE CHECKED ON HER. SOMEONE PLEASE RESPOND ASAP!!!!!!! THANKS

Sorry to hear that happened, that must shake you up a bit!
There are animals that can climb over a fence like that, such as raccoons, but I think they would have attacked your hen. Another possibility are snakes. I know in my area some people have trouble loosing eggs to bull snakes.
There is a forum that specifically addresses predator issues, maybe you could post on there so people could help you figure out what kind of critters you are dealing with.

make sure there isnt a snake around they swallow eggs whole and chicks search everywhere i do believe it was a snake if they arnt hiding
