Help, where did my chickens go? we had a really bad snow storm last night and I checked my chickens this morning and they seem to be gone Without a Trace... I have one egg hen left in my chicken coop. She has a hurt foot so she doesn't leave the coop. If something got in my chicken coop would imagine she would have been the first to go. I'm currently missing eight Birds altogether that vanished Without a Trace. They were free-ranging before the snowstorm and seemed fine, once we had the snowstorm, we had more than a foot of snow maybe more all at once. I'm wondering if maybe they went to a higher Roost to escape the snow. I'm confused as to where they would have went I see no evidence that they were killed by a predator. They're just gone. Does anybody have any idea where they might have went or what happened?

Maybe they ARE just sitting or hiding somewhere because they were frightened and panicked, not thinking of going in the coop, just running away from the storm might have been their only focus.

Is it possible they got caught in the snow? I hate to even think of them being buried in the snow, but could that possibly have happened? I hope now and hope you find them soon. I would be devastated, as I'm sure you are, if I lost my chickens without a trace.

Any flying predators like hawks? I noticed the bear likes to come out around snow but you'd know if something that big got in. Maybe a fox? The snow would've covered up traces of a fox including stray feathers

I looked everywhere for them... if they are buried I guess I'll find out when the snow melts... I'm really bummed right now. I raised them from hatchlings and now they are gone.

Well like I said in the post I have one small her left in my coop. She has a hurt foot so she stays in the coop. If a fox got in she would have been an easy meal. And I'm missing 8 birds ... that seems excessive for one fox?
