Help why is my chick losing her muffs!

She is a 6 week old EE she had HUGE muffs when she was little almost covering her face but now they're are very small. pictures show before and after.

I have an olive egger with a muff. It was big as a chick, was small like your pullet's at 6 weeks, and now has re-muffed by week 8.

She's not quite Martin Van Buren stage yet, but we have high hopes. I'm sure yours will feather in, too. (super cute chick btw)

Look at it this way: if she never re-develops her muff, you won't have to spend time wondering if you should be washing a chicken's face because she buried her face in watermelon and now has dried watermelon juice crusting up her cheeks. 🙄
