HELP! Why R Chicks asleep in a heap?

Why are my chicks asleep in a heap? I don't know how old they are, but they have some wing feathers. The brooder is 88/90 degrees. They are not huddled, but are all laying all over the floor, but kind of on top of each other. Is this normal? They are so cute. I just got them 6 hours ago.

ya that is normal post some picsures and make sure that they can get out of the lamp every now and again

If they are clustered under the heat light then it is too cold, if they are crammed against the wall AWAY from the heat= too hot, if they are scattered about some cuddling some alone = happy fuzzers. For me, their behavior is much more accurate than any thermometer you could buy. Have fun and welcome!

Make certain that they can be warm and cool off. If they pile it's usually a sign that they are cold... just be certain not to cook them.
