My one hen goes broody multiple times a year even if I let her hatch some out in spring she will go broody again after the chicks are grown. She's a blue laced red wyandotte and a great mother.Yes if I do not want her to hatch eggs I will pick her up push her out and take the eggs after about a week of this she gets the idea. Do you have a separate area for her to hatch out her eggs when she does go broody? If not other hens will keep laying eggs in the box she is in and you will have eggs in different stage of incubation. If you have a spot out of the wind and she decides to go broody early she can definitely keep her chicks warm enough.Good to know. Do you just let them stay broody without the eggs? Do they do fine? I hope that one of mine goes broody this spring! Is she does earlier do I need to do anything about it? I don't really want baby chicks when it is so cold out
