Hi! While doing my morning chores, I accidentally left a bag of meal worms inside the coop that I had gotten to give my hens a little treat. There was at least one and a half cups in there and there are five chickens (four lavender Orpingtons and a blue Ameraucana). When I went to do the evening chores I realized my mistake, and of course the bag was empty. Will my chickens get sick from this one-off excess of protein?

Also, I read somewhere else that chickens can eat pass, so I had been giving them some dried yellow peas with their morning grain (oats and wheat to peck on in the run, wide from their regular layer feed). Recently, however, I read that dry peas can be toxic to chickens unless they are sprouted, due to a growth inhibitor toxin. Is this correct?? I'm new to chicken keeping and I'm a little stressed out.

I would appreciate any advice. Thank you!
