My lovely EE's came from blue eggs and we believe that their dad was a bantam cochin mix that came from a light brown egg. First wondering on sex at 6 weeks of age. Trying to figure out chance of blue egg from that if these are girls. Think darker one is pullet and lighter is cockeral perhaps. 2 pics are the darker one and bottom is the light colored one.

They both have pea combs...so that is good. Wondering sexes...

Anyone have thoughts on sex? Both have small pea combs, but the light colored one has a bigger slightly pink comb compared to the small flesh colored comb of the darker one.

If I had to guess, I'd say the blue is a male, and the light one is a female. And nurse_turtle is very close. The pea comb gene lies very close on the chromosome to the blue egg gene. So when the chromosome splits during the creation of offspring, they commonly end up being inherited together.

Now, it's not 100%, but it's a pretty high percentage. So you're most likely going to get green eggs from the girl (green is the result of blue and brown egg genes being mixed).

to me they look like pullets post again when they are fully feathered out :)
