We have a 4 days old chick she came for from the hatcher breeder who didn’t want the chick
She is Tinny and has splayed legs which seems getting better with treatment but the baby chick does not seems eating herself , our friend has to feed her is this normal?
Baby was very cold when brought from hatcher ,also weak ,and now after 2 days chick seems better more perky but still can’t seem to get the hold of eatimf
On her own
Am I doing ok feeding her giving electrolytes and mash ? How
Long until she can eat on her own

Hi, Elizabeth, and welcome to BYC!

She should be eating on her own. I'd stop the electrolytes if she's already had that to drink for a few hours.

Do you have chick crumbles for her? They may be a little big so crushing some with a spoon might help.

I've also soaked some in a small dish (I use a plastic peanut butter jar lid).

She should be kept at about 90-95F heat.

This mixed with a little mashed up scrambled egg and a little liquid to kind of make a paste might perk her up. I've used it before and it seems like a good product. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D11ZC9PS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
