Help with a chronic broody hen

If the hen adopts the chicks, she will protect them from other flock members.
The only reason it would be appropriate to separate them from the flock is because of the potential of introducing disease from the adult flock to the chicks.
Good to know, maybe we will get a couple more 🤷🏻‍♂️

Personally i would do 4-6 A, because most stores at least around here have a minimum of 4 or 6 so they don't freeze in the ride home and B, in case one or two just don't make it, she still has some to raise. I always leave at least two chicks for my broodies to raise if I take the others away since I don't want something to happen where they decide to stop hatching because their chicks keep disappearing

The advantage of letting a hen raise chicks with the flock is that by the time she weans them, they are accepted as members of the flock. It is so much harder to add young birds later.
But this is the way they do it in the wild.
