Help with a stalking bobcat

Well last night the bobcat scaled the wall of our house up to the 3rd story balcony somehow & got about 5 young pigeons we had in a coop up there. Never has a predator gone up there to get any birds.
Animal Control wants to send a someone out here to check if it has diseases but it has to be trapped to do that right? And Dept of Fish & Wildlife said they basically are too busy to help us.
So we got a trap & a speaker & we are going to play rabbit distress noises & such to try to lure it to the trap.
It's a really creepy feeling knowing something is out there just watching & stalking our birds.
We are willing to try anything right now

At least as of two years ago, it is legal to shoot bobcats in California as long as you purchase a tag for it. I know because we had a bobcat get into our chicken yard back then, and were able to purchase the tags and kill it the next day.

Have you checked into private animal damage / wildlife damage control experts? Do an Internet search for "wildlife control" or "animal damage control" for your area.

If you go the route of trapping, first check laws regarding nuisance trapping. I am a big fan of responsibly handling the after-work of trapping, meaning try your hand at tanning! You never know what skills you'll be good at until you try. If you catch it- skin, tan, and make yourself a wall hanging or a floor throw. If you know how to sew, even a unique pillow would be nice.

Trap wise- DON'T get a body trap (conibear) as they're kill traps and you may accidentally have a dog, cat, or unwanted critter in there. Foot traps are hard to get an unwanted dog or critter out of without a catch pole. Try borrowing/renting a large live trap (around here, sometimes our animal shelters rent them out). Or flat out invest in one! Do your homework on laws and trap methods.

And if this isn't what you are interested in- perhaps reach out to your state's trappers association and find a licensed trapper who is willing to take and dispatch the bobcat. Just make sure they have the proper licensing/tags whatever is required by your state's law.

This is something that I just thought of. Not entirely sure it would work but its worth a try. Get some turkey meat or maybe some tuna fish and put it over a live wire. Then the bobcat will be enticed by the smell nd grab hold of the wore giving it a nasty shock. I would put it over by your turkeys coop so he can connect that this are over here equals pain. Ive heard that bobcats are attracted to feathers blowing in the wind so you might want to tie some feathers from a tree branch over the live wire so the bobcat will be attracted by the feathers movement in the wind and the smell.
