Help with avatar?

Obviously I know how to do it, but for some reason I can't change it? Do I need to delete the avatar that I have first and THEN upload the new one? I tried to do it this way (I think) and it still shows the gosling

I changed my avatar last night, and it was on there for several posts. Today, my old avatar is back. All my pictures I added to my uploads are there, but I can't make any of them the avatar. What's the deal with that? Is it because I'm on a different computer? The original picture was on my other computer. But so is this original avatar that came back on me. I've tried to copy and paste it in to the box, but it will only let me choose this computer to browse from.

Thanks! I'll try that. Now that I'm home again, my avatar is back.
