Thank you for your reply I thought that maybe I was gonna have to help so I did and the chick is now out I'm sitting next to the hen and the chick just to make sure and so far everything is looking good the chick is cheaping away and getting some much needed rest I'm leaving it to dry out under the hen I'm honestly just praying that it survivesOh my goodness! Did the baby pip - start making a small crack on his/her own with his/her beak? If the baby started pipping, then it is probably ready to come out. You can very CAREFULLY start trimming the membrane (the white, almost leathery/papery covering beneath the shell) somewhere near the bottom of the rounded end of the egg. If you know where the baby started pipping, that's where to start - see if there are any small tears/holes in that membrane and if you see the little beak, you could probably just help finish the job for this little girl/guy from that point. Chicks hatch by making that first pip, then 'unzipping' the shell around them by cracking with their beak in a circular motion, then pushing the 'lid' off to get out.
Unfortunately, I'm not a hatching expert, but I have helped a good deal of Littles out of their shells. I just hope this little girl/guy is ready. Again, make sure he/she has started pipping and you might want to have a spray bottle with warm water to mist the baby while you help, or a bowl of warm water and maybe a paper towel or cotton ball. Better yet, hopefully someone with more experience than me will chime in. Good luck!!!
Oh, that sounds good! The little bean will be kinda wobbly and weak at first, so don't panic if he/she is sleepy for a while. Hoping it all works out in the endThank you for your reply I thought that maybe I was gonna have to help so I did and the chick is now out I'm sitting next to the hen and the chick just to make sure and so far everything is looking good the chick is cheaping away and getting some much needed rest I'm leaving it to dry out under the hen I'm honestly just praying that it survives![]()
I normally just feel them scrambeled egg with just egg and a bit of waterI’m so happy the little one survived
Do you have chick food for them, or just the scrambled egg?
