these were purchased at a place called Fancy Fowl in Lancaster PA. Looking at the list of birds they sell, these don't look anything like the ones on the list. (they're not mine... I'm just helping a friend out) It seems like this place is a middle man of sorts... gets them from various breeders and then you get from his location.

They are about 8 weeks old.
First one is tiny so I guess a bantam of some sort. Looks female...
She is extremely friendly, very light colored legs, gold on neck, lots of blue and a white chest.

The next I'm guessing Splash Ameraucana as he does have true Ameraucana there. But sadly, it certainly looks like a cockerel with the red comb and she wanted/paid for a pullet. He does have slate legs.

She got them at approx 5/6 weeks old and I believe they are about 8-9 now.

And if indeed the 2nd one is a Splash Ameraucana would he be easy to re-home on Craigslist? Do people search out this type of cockerel?

Thank you for your help!!

I have no idea on the first bird, sorry.

Second bird does look like a splash Ameraucana cockerel. First, if a pullet was paid for, I'd contact the seller about returning the bird, or getting a refund or replacement, something to make it right for your friend.

I would advertise him, you never know what folks are looking for. I've purchased two splash Ameraucana cockerels recently for a breeding project. Give it a try, for sure.

Thanks for the info. Can I ask how much a splash ameraucana cockerel would sell for? I'm sure the $$ doesn't matter but I would guess about $10 at the most?

I know she won't go to the seller for a refund or to return it. It says on the website that you can return a cockerel for $2 credit! She paid $25 for it!! And it was an awful place...
when she got the birds they were infested with mites!! She didn't know at the time; she thought they didn't have their tail feathers because they were picking on each other. After
I saw them I showed her the mites. She called the seller to tell him and he said that was normal! So she would never return a bird to his care. I'm sure it would be dead in 2 minutes flat.

Yeah, I wouldn't deal with that seller again, either. I don't know how folks like that sleep at night

My older guy, I got for free. He was 8 months old, I put a wanted ad on CL. I would have been willing to pay a small amount for him, but the lady was just happy to find a home for him.
My younger guy I paid I think $10 for. That was pre-arraigned at a swap, and the seller was transporting him, etc, so I felt that was a decent price. Plus, she had pics of his parents, and egg colors, things like that. The older bird, I got none of that info. it just depends on your local market. When I'm advertising roosters, I'm just happy if I can find anyone who wants them.
