help with breed/sex?

o good if they where i would have been totally upset. well atleast i came out with two leghorn pullets, now what to do with the roo! could i get away with two roos for 8 hens, if i decide to get a roo of my choice?
also i was noticing today that he was sneaking up on the hens and biting/pecking them on the neck does that mean anything? i saw him do it to one of my jerseys, that beats up on him all the time, and i saw him do it two one of the leghorn pullets, so much so she was fussin up a storm.

Your girls are Leghorns. They are a more slender built bird bred for egg production, not bulky like a lot of other breeds that were bred for dual purpose(eggs/meat). Before they lay their combs and wattles will become very red and much much larger than they are now. Also, Leghorn hens' combs tend to flop to one side, where the males stand straight. Just fyi so you don't worry when they start looking like a bad comb over!

He is starting to try and mate the hens, they grab a hold of the neck and climb aboard like little cowboys. Until the girls are close to laying however, they will not like his advances and will scream and run. Usually leaving some feathers behind. Unless he starts causing serious injuries, it sounds and looks a lot worse than it actually is!

they still look so young to me but they should be right around 18 weeks now, so hopefully eggs within the next month, one of the pullets comb has gotton much bigger and redder within the last 2 weeks.

also so since hes a roo, and he has not crowed yet when do they start? at what age? also at night if i go to the coop and open the door he makes alot of gurgling cooing noises, i though "she" was just snoring or something, so is this snoring or something else?

Just curious, what makes everyone so sure he is a Rock. I was thinking Giant because he looks like a White version of a Black Jersey Giant that (I think) I have.

i just looked up white giant jerseys and they look to have yellow legs to me, i was thinking the same thing when he started getting big cause he towers over my two jersey hens and when he stands upright he stands probably about 2 feet tall. and hes only 4-5 month.

Well, I just did a quick search online for pics. There did seem to be some whites with very dark legs. But I saw one with white legs and others with a dark gold. So maybe there is some variation with hatchery stock. Just a guess on my part.
