I crossed a New Hampshire Red Roo with RIR hens. What will they be. I hatched 39 chicks & some are really yellow. I can get a picture if needed. I'm just curious.

They will be Rhode Island Red, New Hampshire [no red in their name] crosses. Often referred to as mutts. They do not morph into another breed when you cross them.

They would be crosses. Some would call them mongrels in a derogatory manner, but they will be good chickens. I have a link in my signature below to a Mississippi State University article about hybrid vigor that can a result of crossing that you may find interesting.

I will suggest a fun name for your chickens: New Rhode-shires. Of course, it's not an official American Poultry Association breed name. Or maybe Ham-Islands.

I was just curious their my own breed so I'll call them Texas Reds.I just want red chickens. Thanks I'm not gonna call them mongrels. Their just little iddy biddies right now. They do the same as all my chickens they scratch & peck.

Really, I thought when you crossed for example a RIR with a dom they call them black sex link. Again I could care less just curious.

The sex links aren't a "breed", though. Just a gentic luck that helps you sex offspring.

Your birds will be red birds. Probably great dual purpose. Sounds like just what you're looking for!

"Breeds" breed true. Meaning generation after generation they produce the same result. Not the case with cross bred birds.
