This is my first incubator set with my coturnix.
When I bought them I thought I was getting Jumbo Browns.
The seller told me she had been getting some golden ones but I didn't understand That gene pool would be included in mine.
I divided the stock I bought into 3 cages: number next them age in weeks when bought.
cage 1; roo (6) hens (4)
Cage 2 Roo (4) Hens (2 & 6)
Cage 3 roo (2) hens (2)
From what the seller explained to me in cage 1 & 2 this would make the birds being bred no more than half brother and sister.
These 2 cages produced the most golden birds. with cage 1 having the most.
Cage 2 having the least.
cage 3 produced all brown birds and has the biggest possibility of being in bred by me.
Any way the way I see it the 4 week olds are the carriers of the gold gene. If I move the 4 week old roo in with the 4 week old hens will it cause problems.

Basically I want to swap the roos to see If I get more Browns.
