Help with brooder decision

This is sort of a misleading topic header. I have 16 chicks between 5 and 6 weeks old in 2 different brooders. All were together but started picking eachothers backs clean. They still are picking but not quite as bad. Never had this problem with other batches before and have excluded mites, lice etc.. Would like to move them to a tractor for more room but am worried that they will not know to stay near a heat source in the coop section at night. Usually wait to about 8 weeks to move the chicks outside. Advise appreciated.

I would put them outside in the coop area with a heat source. If they can get under the heat they will be fine.

As long as you havethe heat source, they should be able to find it. depending in the size of the coop, might want to use cardboard to adjust size for them until you are sure they know where the heat is. It will also help protect from drafts.

I agree. I'd have already had them out. I have week old chicks running around all day outdoors (with a mama, but they stay out from under her all day) and it's only a bit warmer here than there.
