Help with chick

I'm very familiar with Barred Rocks, I have quite a few of them, although I only have hens and have never had a rooster.

This chick is about a week old. Looks very different from my other Barred Rocks.
The beek is large and has no black stripe and it's body has a lot of white.

Check out the pics... I'm unsure... They are from a hatchery.

The one in question is on the left, compaired to my Barred Rock on the right.

I heard that the whiter spots on a Barred rock means it's a rooster. That's a Barred Rock.

I would say girl right now! The legs have the black wash look down the legs and the white spot on head! Can you repost in a couple of weeks?

I'm going to try to get a picture of my Barred Rock chicks all together, because this one sticks out like a sore thumb.

Trying to get baby chicks to cooperate may get interesting...:cd

With that white/pink skin color I'm thinking you may have a cuckoo Marans in the mix, and likely a male at that. What hatchery was it? Was there a free chick included? could be this guy.

That's a very white spot and white patch on the chest. My cuckoo marans didn't have such a large white patch. I'd be very curious to see what you actually have.

They are from Meyer Hatchery.

I bought an assortment of 15 brown egg layers ( a gift for my brother)

And they did throw in a free chick ( Meyer Meal ), which is labeled as a Barred Rock on my order form.


... I did get a total of 5 barred rocks in the order, 1 dominique, 6 Rhode Island reds and 4 golden buffs

I took these of him this morning, the more I look at it, the more I feel he is a rooster...

I am raising them for a few more weeks until they are old enough to go to my brothers farm.
