Help with Chicken Sounds

Good morning, I have noticed the last 3 mornings just before sun up a strange noise I think is coming from my chickens. It reminds me of a baby goat noise. Anyone have that same sound or info? The chickens are from about 9-14 weeks old. It stops after the sun rises. Thank you

I am new to chickens, but is it possible that you have a roo in the mix? He might be working on his crowing.

I was kinda thinking too. I have a D'uccle little guy who is looking more like a roo. I'm new to chickens too. Well I had a 30 year break! Thank you

Update...so I went out this morning to see who was sounding like a little goat and it was my cute little buff Cochin ( I think that it what He is). So right after I heard what sounded more like actual crowing and it was coming from the little d'uccle. Darn they are so cute but I had my suspicions a week ago by their combs. I have to figure out how I can hide the noise from the neighbors!

Your chicken is learning to crow. The sound can be odd at first, until they learn to do it right. If you are allowed to have roosters it shouldn't be a problem. My neighbor had a rooster and I didn't mind at all hearing it crow, after all, that is what they do! Good luck with your flock!
