okay, so i have this black frazzle named dopey.... she's a frazzle, 2 frizzle genes... brittle feathers.. poor girl....
got her from the feed store, so i don't know what color her parents were.. don't know if they were both black or if it matters....

i want to get a silky roo for her to breed sizzles....
what color would babies be if i got a red silky roo??
is there any way to know since i don't know the parenting of the frazzle??
would they all be black because black is dominant??
or am i better off going with a B/B/S roo???
was thinking maybe blue or splash would be nice to have the roo.. i really don't think i want a black silky... just a wierd thing...
i'm not overly fond of black chickens.. lol...
anyway.....

so... opinions?? thoughts?? wisecracks??

Black is not dominant to red. Those would be different gene combinations. The E-allele of the black may be dominant to that of the red. Or it may not. Black can be built on any allele except wheaten. Red is either wheaten or brown.

Pairing the colours could get you blacks, blacks with leaky red showing, reds with lots of black, reds.

For more predictable offspring, get a blue or splas to pair her with. Blue would give you half blue, half black offspring; splash will give you all blue babies.

A sizzle is a silkie crossed with a frizzle. Hence, sizzle.
