I have this playhouse I want to convert to a coop for my free range hens. I am in a moderate climate (evening temps are in the 40-60) with only 40 days of rain a year. I know to cover all openings with hardware cloth.
How do I design, build, attach a nest box?
How do I secure the door from predators while still being able to open it?
How do I attach the roost bars?
Can I leave it on the ground?

For a nest box, it can be on the floor. Unless you are wanting to attach it to the outside via a window.
As far as predators and the door - can you take a pic of the other side?
I have a playhouse, but only modified it for my ducks. I have hardware cloth over the door as it has an actual door. If the playhouse doesn't have an actual door, might have to build one.
I did a search for playhouses and coops and you can find a lot of mods (not on byc) - there was a blog using the exact same playhouse which came up using the name of the playhouse with coop in the search.
Take some pics of the door area. I will see if I can tag someone else that I know has a playhouse coop. :)
