HELP WITH COPPER HEADS -Snake problems- what lime to use to burn them and other suggestions

Where can I get sulfur? one street over a guy killed a 4 foot copperhead, and my neighbor killed a young copperhead that was crawling up on his porch,

I'd get a hoe or shovel first ...

Like said above nothing stops/deters a snake ... Besides killing them ... Or you could put a ring of fire around your yard, propane fired ...

Kitty litter , or sulpher , or mothballs ,or lime sulpher mix all work to keep snakes away but a hoe works nicely too

I empathize with your fear and do not want to discount those feelings, I am personally terrified of flying. But as a biologist with graduate degrees in herpetology and animal physiology who did tons of graduate research on venomous snakes in the US, I can tell you with 100% certainty that there is no snake repellent that even qualifies as moderately effective. Your strategy of reducing food sources such as rodents and getting rid of hiding spots are the best methods. ALL of those other products only succeed in making you wallet lighter. Many times you will hear stories that this or that works, hog wash! It is a coincidence at best that the snake moved on to a new area. Many of my colleagues have researched this trying to come up with their "get rich scheme," to date, they are still working their regular jobs. Even the essence of predators such as kingsnakes and mongoose were ineffective, because snakes can tell the "freshness" of the scent and mongoose is not a scent our US snakes have evolved to recognize as a predator. I hope it all works out. I am not trying to rain on your parade, I just don't want to see you waste time and money on "snake oil" (bad pun). Limit the reason they are coming around and you will see less of them.
