Help with day old chick!

Hello,
Thank goodness for this site!
I incubated a dozen eggs and had six hatch but one had to be assisted as it was trapped in the membrane. The little one cannot stand or walk and just shuffled around. I am giving it water and egg yolk and was just wondering if anyone else has experience with this and is there anything else I can do?

That can be the problem when you try to assist a chick in hatching. There may have been problems with humidity or the chick was weak. About all you can do is use some Poultry Cell, NutriDrench 1-2 drops orally a couple of times a day, and offer water and food. Electrolytes with vitamins in the water are good if the tonics are not available. Try standing the chick in a small padded cup or wine glass to get it’s legs. A couple of weak chicks I hatched could never stand and arched themselves backward, and they would never eat or drink. I hope that you can help the chick.
