I have a two questions and I'm sorry this is long. I recently got 7 Khaki Campbell ducks about 2 weeks old and 6 Magpie ducks a couple of days old. I screwed up royally at the beginning and put them all in the same brooder box. The bigger ducks trampled two of the smaller ducks. One of the trampled ducks didn't make it and the other ended up with splay legs. We created another brooder box and separated the ducks. Once the older ones were big enough we created an enclosed place for them in the chicken coop. It's the 7 ducks plus 3 chicks, their food, a pool and a heating lamp in the corner in case they need it. The smaller ducks are now big enough to move to a bigger place. I tried putting them into the pen with the bigger ducks but the bigger ducks started picking on them. Are Khaki Campbell ducks territorial or is this just a "hey look, new ducks!" thing that is normal and I over reacted because I'm paranoid after the last incident? And two. My splay leg duck after some rubber band and water therapy is finally able to walk again but he is about 1/2 the size of his brooder mates. If it's possible to move the other 4 in with the bigger ducks I won't be able to move Penguin. Can Penguin move into the house with me until he is big enough to rejoin? I know ducks need ducks so I don't want to traumatize him, but I also don't want to keep the others in the brooder box that they have clearly outgrown. Help please!

Yes a separate pen is needed and all will be fine till they grow up. Then you might have a Drake to Hen ratio issue to deal with..:frow

Oh boy, lol. I have Muscovy ducks, but they were grown when I got them. I chose 1 drake to 4 hens. These guys were sort of a surprise. A local rescue is closing due to the owners health issues and she said she would give me her geese if I also took some ducks. I thought she meant ducks, not ducklings, lol. So unprepared!
