Help with Fleas

Stop with the DE, it won't do anything but injure their lungs. Whenever they flap, it gets stirred up, they inhale it, and it causes damage to the lungs when inhaled. It also won't kill the fleas, not in the small amounts that you can get on them.

Are you in the USA? In the USA we usually treat poultry fleas, lice and mites with permethrin spray or dust, which you can get at most feed stores.
Do you have a Tractor Supply? If so, go get this:

To treat the fleas you will need to make a 0.5% solution. To do this, add 47.5 ml to your quart-sized bottle then fill the bottle with water.

Remove all bedding and dispose of it because the fleas are living and feeding in it. Spray your coop, nesting boxes, and their dust bathing spots.

You will also need to spray the birds and using a small syringe or q-tip, apply the spray directly to the fleas. The fleas will die almost instantly and will fall off in a few days. Those that don't fall of can be scraped off with your fingernail.

Thank you so much, I have that Permethrin 10 and I have used it on the coop and nesting boxes but wasn't sure if I could put it on the chickens and that may be why I can not get rid of them cause I was not using it on the chickens them selfves.

You're welcome! Directly on the chickens will kill them quickly, and it's safe to use on birds of all ages, even chicks! Note that for me, the mite/lice concentration did not work as well as the 0.5%.

I use the permethrin dust on the birds and in their nest boxes and permethrin spray the inside of the coop THOROUGHLY every crack and crevice and repeat the spraying in about a week. Since I have seen wild birds in and around my coops (and some trying to build nests in some of the coops) which can introduce the pests I spray weekly during the summer months when it's hot and humid here. It also controls flies. I love it. Since I have been using it no more pest (mites and lice), available at TSC. I use the concentrate and mix it in a gallon sprayer with water, but I have several coops.
