Hi, I’m new to BYC and new to owning my own chicken flock. I’ve helped others care for their chickens, but never had my own. So, I know this is such a common question but I’m just wanting to make sure I don’t have a sick chicken on my hands. I have 5 10 week-old “pullets”. But I suspect one is a rooster. He / she is huge compared to the other chicks and has really big feet. He does this hopping and face off thing w one of the other “pullets”. Now he’s started this honking sound. Almost like a teenage boy who’s voice is changing LOL. Is this what roosters do, or is that a sound of a respiratory infection? No one else is doing it and she / he seems fine. Is one of my pullets a rooster? And if so, does that mean the other chick that is facing g off w him also a rooster? Hoping it’s just a thing hens do as well! If I have 2 roosters, will they fight to the death layer on, or can 2 roosters get along?
