Hi all!

I have 3 chicks that I'd like a little help with. I need someone to help me confirm the gender of these 3. I also have 3 RIRs that are probably old enough to tell, but they all look the same to me and the pics I got don't really show them very well. Anyway..on to these 3 lol.

This first on is a Bantam Cochin Frizzle. I'm guessing roo..

This next one is a Bantam Cochin. I'm guessing hen. I'm also wondering what her color would be called. Is she a black or do the few white spots make her mottled?

And the last one is a serama..my guess is roo..

Thanks for any help ya'll can give.

I think you got the genders right. As far as the Black Cochin I don't know much about them, but her color standard would depend on if she is pure or mixed. If she is mixed then you would only be able to compare or say which she looks most like (I would call her black). If she is pure then she could either be poor quality black or poor quality mottled. I only mean poor quality in as for show. (I personally think you have beautiful chicks.) This is from my understanding. If I am wrong someone with more knowledge feel free to correct me.

It was hard to get good pics because they were moving around so much. The middle one is the same age as the top one. They were both purchased as frizzles, but obviously the middle one didn't get the frizzle feathers. The middle one doesn't have the red wattles coming in like the top one and doesn't have the red comb. That's why I'm pretty sure it's a hen. I had 5 of them, but the dogs got 3

. We've fixed the coop so the dogs can't get in anymore. One of the ones that the dogs got was barred. I was mad lol.

I think you are right on your guesses, and the middle one might be just going through its early, juvie feathering and then will end up all black. I think there are a few breeds that go through that.
