I would like to get some coral blue Guineas in the future for my blue farm. I have had guineas for a long time, but never messed with breeding for a certain color. What colors do you breed for this color and which color is the male and which is the female? Also if I get coral blue keets will they breed and give me more coral blue? I was thinking of getting eggs from this place www.guineafarm.com has anyone bought from them I would like feed back.

Any info will be appreciated. thanks

Julie, I would go to one of the Guinea boards to ask color genetics questions. The one that is friendliest is Guinea Fowl International.

The keets should breed true. My lavenders have for the most part although I've had some white ones show up in some of my hatches.

Mixing coral blues will give you at least some coral blues. They can also be carrying other colors and at minimum will have only one copy of the pearl gene so that some of their offspring are lavender and some are sky blue. I don't believe there are any sex linked colors in guinea fowl so it won't matter which gender is what color.

Thank you for replying. If I understand you right, your saying. If I have all blues and they breed, depending on what color gene in each bird is dominate, this is what will hatch? So I would have to find which blue roo and which blue hens hatches blue keets and that's the ones to keep to keep getting blues? right? lol Genetics confuse me. I understand I'll have some that are different color, but I really want only the blue, so I'm trying to go the best way to get this.
